Inside and Outside the Classroom
Activities

Clubs
Jump In
We cater for a host of school programs encouraging students who wish to pick up an instrument, learn another language, or improve their sporting technique, which can be delivered by specialised mentors at Apollo Bay P-12 College or through access to online tuition.
Our clubs include SRC, school productions, choirs, study groups and programs to help prepare for events like Book Week when needed. We also encourage our students to join sporting clubs or special interest groups in our vibrant community.
Sport
Get Active
We ensure Apollo Bay P-12 College students have every opportunity to make the most of their unique surroundings. We offer a Surf Cadets program, Surf Lifesaving camps and our pupils have access to the beach on a regular basis in the summer. We also offer swim sessions year-round in our indoor heated pool on college grounds, which is right next door to an indoor stadium and gym. Throughout the year we run a variety of sporting and outdoor programs alongside our annual swimming carnival, athletics day and cross-country event. We have 3 houses based on shipwrecks in the area - Casino (red), Rayville (blue) and Speculant (white). Top performers advance to regional meets. Students can also compete in sport days against other schools in cricket, football, basketball, netball and more.

We also have strong links to local sporting clubs such as football, netball, tennis, surf clubs and swimming.
Volunteering
Give Back
We encourage students to engage in the Apollo Bay community as best they can. Our students excel in art, music, writing, performing arts, sporting groups and more programs outside the school grounds. We also embrace a community presence at the school. We welcome helpers to our successful Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program and try and utilise the skills of talented people in the Apollo Bay community.
School Production
Be creative
Every second year we hold a school production. In 2025, we will be performing "Finding Nemo Jnr", a well loved Disney production. Over the years we have held a wide variety of performances that give our students a chance to learn the art of performance or in a behind-the-scenes role.

It has been wonderful to see students skills in acting, singing, stage production, sound engineering and lighting come together supported by our talented teachers. We always love to see students confidence grow as they work towards producing a fantastic show for all to enjoy!

Camps & Excursions
From onsite sleepovers from Year 2, to Kangaroobie, Sovereign Hill, Melbourne Camps for middle year students. In secondary years, Drivers Ed, Snow Camps, Aboriginal and Indigenous Heritage expeditions and more. In the VCE years more specialised camps to enhance learning in specialist areas are held to broaden and deepen knowledge in that area of study.

Incursions
Throughout the year we have a variety of experts visit our school to share their passion and knowledge in their fields. We have scientists, drama clubs, sports people, published writers and more. We are always looking for ways to keep our students in touch with what is happening in the wider community.
International Trip
Every 3 years we hold an International Trip. Students who choose to participate have a voice in which countries will be explored and how they will fundraise and work towards the cost of the trip.
Past students have found the challenge of a month backpacking overseas a major achievement and a time of personal growth.
