Enrolment
School zones
Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria.
Students residing within our school zone are typically eligible for a place at our school, which is determined based on your permanent residential address.
Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and may enrol at another school, if there are available places.

Enrolling your child
At Apollo Bay P-12 College, we welcome enquiries from new students from within our school zone throughout the school year. Our enrolment process usually begins with a tour of the school with a member of our leadership team and completing an Expression of Interest form.

To arrange a tour of the school and to obtain an application form, please contact the College via email or phone.

Once eligibility is confirmed, you will need to complete an Enrolment Form. A copy of your child's birth certificate is also required to proceed with enrolment. If you have entered Australia on a visa, the College must view documents which clearly state a visa subclass for students, before any enrolment can be confirmed. Only those students with eligible visas can be accepted.

For any enquiries about our Enrolment Process please email the College on: apollo.bay.p12@education.vic.gov.au.

Foundation (Prep) Enrolments
Starting primary school is an exciting time for families! We encourage families to apply for Prep before the last Friday in July in line with the State-wide timeline. This allows us to plan our classrooms, staffing and transition activities and ensures your child has the best start to school.
If your child attends Apollo Bay Kindergarten, they will provide you with an enrolment package before the end of July. Our transition program take place in Term 4 and includes a number of on-site visits to the school.
You can contact the school directly regarding enrolment if your child does not attend the local Preschool or if applying after July.
To be eligible for Prep enrolment, a child must turn 5 on or before 30th April of the year they commence school.

New Enrolments (Prep-12)
Enrolment can take place at any time throughout the year for students residing within our school zone where there is capacity in that year level. We ask that families allow enough time for the application process, for planning purposes and to ensure a smooth transition for your child.
Enrolments from outside our school zone can be considered subject to meeting specific criteria and the school's capacity to offer placement based on current numbers in that year level. Please contact the office to discuss your family's situation.

For any enquiries about our Enrolment Process please email the College on: apollo.bay.p12@education.vic.gov.au.
Transition
Transition (including Prep and 6 to 7)
Our Prep Transition Program takes place in Term 4 of the year prior to commencing school and includes a number of on-site visits to explore the school environment. We also offer a Buddy Program with the Prep and Year 6 students. The Buddies provide a friendly face for the new Preps to support their transition and to help them feel at ease in their new surroundings. It is also an excellent opportunity to gain leadership skills for our Year 6 students in their last year of primary school.
Students across all year levels participate in our LEAP program which runs at the end of the year. This gives students a chance to meet their new teachers, other students, experience the subjects and explore our school before formally beginning the next school year. New students who are looking to join our school are invited to attend.

Note: Our LEAP program encompasses the Year 6 to 7 transition and replaces the state-wide transition day for Victorian students (and is usually on a different date). Please contact us early in Term 4 for our school's transition dates.
